If you decide to do so, there are some key rules you\u2019ll need to follow. This way you\u2019ll have damaged nails. Not to mention, it\u2019s also possible to get a damaged nail bed! So if you in fact do such a horrendous thing, you\u2019ll need to prepare yourself that your nails won\u2019t be in good condition for a pretty long time. Essentially, you won\u2019t be able to have healthy and pretty nails naturally for weeks and even months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secondly, you won\u2019t want to cut your nails with any nail scissors or other tools. When you use nail scissors, you can make the shellac crack\u2026and with them your nails can crack as well. A similar rule applies to biting \u2013 even after removing the manicure, we strongly discourage this habit! Please don\u2019t do it! Biting can lead to many unpleasant infections, for example fungal infections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Third, when you\u2019re filing off the top layer of shellac, you\u2019ll need to be extra careful not to go through the nail plate. File carefully and try to leave a layer of the base on the nail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And finally, let\u2019s say your manicure has not grown back enough to take it off, but something has happened to it, a chip or nick. Trust us, do not save the situation with super glue or any other such adhesives. Surely you\u2019ll have some of them already at home, while the rest can be easily ordered online, or bought in a nearby store:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>nail file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>nail buffer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cuticle pusher or a wooden cuticle stick<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>acetone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>nail strengthening polish<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cosmetic pads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>aluminum foil (cut into smaller pieces)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>optional: cuticle oil or a different natural oil of your choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pro tip: Turn on some nice background music to make it feel like you\u2019re actually in a nail salon! This will break the seal of the top coat and allow acetone to penetrate through all the layers. Be careful while doing this, best leave the other layers intact to not damage your nail plate. Also, be careful with the cuticles, as they can get torn while filing.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step-2\"><\/span>Step 2<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now you\u2019ll want to grab the cotton pads, acetone, and aluminum foil. What you\u2019ll be doing is essentially creating little cocoons for your nails to soak in. Pour acetone on each pad so that they\u2019re moist, but not dripping. Place each of the pads on your nails and wrap them tightly with aluminum foil. The tighter you wrap your nails, the faster the acetone will work. How long does it take to remove acrylic nails? Depending on the products used, it may take anywhere from ten to twenty minutes for the acetone to work its magic. To check if you\u2019re good to go to the next step you can take a peek under the foil and pad. If the shellac has lifted from the nail and started crumbling, you can proceed to step 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-fe48e5de wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/cdl.booksy.com\/cSO0ugND4qb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Book now<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step-4\"><\/span>Step 4<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While doing this step you\u2019ll also want to work one finger at a time. You\u2019ll remove the foil and cotton pad, and then carefully scrape off the remaining polish with a metal cuticle pusher or wooden cuticle stick. Remember, don\u2019t do anything by force! However, there will always be some sneaky spots. Grab your nail buffer and use its less coarse side to gently smooth your nails. This should remove any remaining spots.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step-6\"><\/span>Step 6<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moisturizing your nails after removing shellac is an absolute must!<\/strong> To do so, you can use many different products, among them being cuticle oil or coconut oil. This can really help with nail repair!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that\u2019s it!
