Less formal than the Academy Awards, and honoring accomplishments on the small screen as well as in film, the Golden Globes are one of the fashion highlights of the year. Because of the more relaxed atmosphere, stars tend to take bigger risks. The looks are less one-note than the Oscars, where most men wear traditional tuxedos and many female stars only wear ball gowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 77th Golden Globes featured a variety of looks, with some stars rocking out-there frocks\u2014Jennifer Lopez\u2019s ribbon-adorned gown<\/a> comes to mind\u2014while others opted for a more classic aesthetic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest trends of the night for women included bold red lips; bubblegum pink dresses like Tiffany Haddish\u2019s<\/a>; asymmetrical, one-shoulder dresses \u00e0 la Michelle Williams<\/a>; and corsets, which Rachel Bilson<\/a>, Charleze Theron<\/a>, Cate Blanchett<\/a>, and Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> all incorporated into their gowns. For men, the two major trends were all-black tuxedos in the style of Johnny Cash\u2014directors Quentin Tarentino<\/a> and Bong Joon-Ho<\/a> both rocked the look\u2014and velvet suits<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
